Perspective from an outsider…
Let me ask you a question, what was your best memory of July 4th?
For me, there’s one that stands out — my first.
You see, I move from the Philippines to the U.S. in the 2000s for graduate school…
My first July 4th was probably the best….
That’s because of the fireworks and food… .
When the fireworks lit up the sky, my first thought was “wow, that’s expensive….”.
Pardon my perspective on things, that’s because I came from a third world country….
But I was right about fireworks are expensive, because during the recession, our county cancelled fireworks….for 3 straight years…
No budget….
It was during the recession too that I lost my job….
It was scary….
How can I take care of my family? Where I can get my next paycheck?…..
I worked “odd” jobs…..I worked as Chemistry lecturer at the nearby community college…
Then I canceled Netflix, Amazon and gym membership….
Years later, I told myself I need to get into business…..
I got scared of lay-offs…(3 lay-offs in my belt)
So, I started a business, and another, and another…
I tried Forex and Options trading but without luck…
It was Amazon Private Labeling that I lost a ton of money….
tons…
Then a friend emailed me to read a book…
I was skeptical at first but he said, “Get it for FREE…”
