Two ways to lose weight this year (this is a different approach)

A year ago, I was walking to my gym.

In front of me was a young, tall and athletic lady..

In the back of her shirt says “we are what we repeatedly do, therefor excellence is not an act, but a habit.”

“Yeah, right?” I said to myself.

We are desensitized by those sayings. Especially me.

It sounded corny.

Today though, after losing 3 lbs last month, I knew what it means.

Later in this email, I’ll demonstrate exactly how I used that corny saying to my advantage.

And lost 3 pounds.

Remember my Neighbor Gary? (If not, check my previous write-ups)

Remember, he’s a retired music professor who still practice his trumpet?

Every morning?

He said that “I still practice, to be on top”.

At 80?

Yeah, because he needs to have a strong lungs to play the trumpet.

But practicing to him just became a habit.

And that’s how he excel.

How do you do that?

For the last 20 years, after his retirement, he would start the morning with a prayer, play the trumpet and then breakfast.

He cultivated what he needed to excel, a habit of practice.

Gary sometimes work in music or guitar stores in town. He teaches too.

That’s it.

A habit.

Start of this year, I’ve mentioned I am planning to lose weight.

My strategy will be a little different this year.

Instead of the crash diet and everything everybody does, I started with forming a habit.

So this is the first way of losing weight, forming a habit of eating healthy.

In my plan, I designated Wednesdays of last month (January 2021) as meatless Wednesdays.

I’ve lost 3 pounds just last month.

In addition to my meatless Wednesdays, I did also a habit of tracking.

If you wanna know the details of what was effective for me, read my previous write up.

Next, I want to tell you the second thing I did last month for me to lose 3 pounds.

More about habits next.
